Cabinet secretary for sports, culture & heritage Amb. Amina Mohammed has ruled out resumption of sports until the Corona pandemic curve goes down.

The C.S however insisted there was still hope as long as people continue to observe ministry of health protocols.

“Let’s pray hard for the curve to go down. The more we continue to observe the ministry of health protocols, the sooner we shall come back to normalcy. For now, we have a presidential directive in place and ministry of health guidelines, we must protect our people by observing social distances so that we can contain this pandemic.” She observed.

She spoke on Tuesday during the presentation of a whooping sponsorship cheque of Ksh.100 million towards the forthcoming world Rally championship  (WRC) safari Rally from title sponsors Kenya Commercial Bank(KCB).

The event graced by Ministry of Sports P.S Joe Okudo and Phineas Kimathi who is the Safari Rally CEO was held at the Safari Rally headquarters at Kasarani.

Others in attendance included KCB CEO Joshua Oigara, FIA president John Todt, event director and former Rally driver Jim Kahumbura among other Rally officials.

The C.S lauded KCB for being in the front line in sponsoring sports in the country and called upon other cooperates to emulate them.
