Four families in agony as their kin disappear mysteriously

Police in Kitengela, Kajiado county are piecing together information that could help in establishing the whereabouts of four men who were reported to have been missing since April 19.
Families of Benjamin Amache Imbai,30, Brian Oduor, 36, Elijah Obuong, 35 and Jack Ochieng,37 have since the missing tried to liaise with friends of the four, neighbors and the police to know their fate but to no avail.
However, the families of the missing said that some people called saying that a body had been discovered in Emali and officers are carrying out an investigation.
As per reports, the four were last seen on April 19 at around 3pm at a local club in Kitengela where they had lunch and ordered drinks.
After a while, the four left the pub without their Toyota Mark X which was later found at the parking lot of the club the four were in.
On the Nairobi Crime-Free Society Facebook page, a site that shares matters on crime in Nairobi, a post was seen asking Kenyans to help authorities and family find their loved ones on Thursday, April 22.
Anderson Njagi, Isinya Sub-county police commander said that investigations into the disappearance had been taken over by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Another report from family members reveal that the four are close friends and they used to be together often. Monica Wanjiru Mugo, wife to Ochieng said that her husband left home in Donholm at 7am for town to meet his friend Oduor. When she tried to reach out for him, Ochieng said he would call her back which he never did.
“It’s unusual for my husband to spend a night out without notifying me. He did not come back and his phone was off the entire night.” Monica said.
Monica also told police that her husband was initially working with a tour company but later got fired due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
His personal car which he had started working with after being sacked was later repossessed due to an unsettled loan. She reported the matter at Buruburu police station where she was told that she can only report after 48 hour of missing.
Catherine Atieno, wife of Oduor said that her husband was in the company of Benjamin and Ochieng at 8am on that day.
Atieno said that Oduor’s phone went off later in the day.
Atieno said she was worried as she recalled a similar incident a year ago where her husband’s best friend together with his two other friends went missing and have never been seen to date.
She said that her husband was engaged with car hire business and also selling car spare parts.They had two children.
Obuong’s mother identified as Caroline said that she last spoke to him on Sunday and received a message that her son could be in danger, which prompted her to report the issue.Obuong lives in Kayole and is a father of one.
Amache’s phone, just like his friends’ went off that day according to his brother Elvis Imbai.He had notified him that he was set to meet his friends the day the four went missing.Elvis said that when he saw pictures circulating on social media, he could identify his brother.
He later reported to Kitengela police station.
Elvis also said that his brother, a father of one was a car hire businessman and lived at Everest estate in Athi River.
