Goodies for over 100 children as Kananu celebrates 41st birthday
Nairobi Deputy Governor Ann Kananu on Saturday celebrated her 41st birthday in style with Children from Hidden Talent Academy, a rehabilitation center with over 100 children at Ngando Ward Dagoretti South.
She donated foodstuff which will last the home for a month. She also pledged to support the home with foodstuffs every month to ease food shortage problems which the area MCA Peter Waihenya termed as the major challenge faced by the academy.
She emphasized the need to support the less privileged within communities and further promised to ensure that the county puts up rehabilitation centres while upgrading the existing ones.
She also thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for allowing opening of Schools and sporting facilities, saying that this was the best thing for the school going children.
“We also thank him for opening businesses because this will ease the burden of the business people who have been hardly hit by the Covid-19 pandemic,”
She was later presented with a certificate of recognition due to her generosity to the needy and vulnerable in society.
Also present were area MCA Peter Waihenya and MCAs Mary Aliviza,Rose Kula, Achieng Ayoti, Mary Njambi, Esther Nyangweso, Elizabeth Nyambura, Rose Masista, Imapet Kemunto, Doris Kanario, Milicent Mugadi and Waithera Chege.
