WayCool Foods, India’s leading food and agri-tech platform, announced that CENSA, a WayCool Foods enterprise, will enter the African market to untangle, optimize and energize the entire food supply chain spectrum of the continent.

The strategic expansion aims to address Africa’s existing food supply chain challenges and create an entire food ecosystem that is tech-enabled and, thereby, more resilient.

Avinash Krishnakumar Kasinathan, CEO of CensaNext Systems, stated: “Both India and Africa face similar food challenges, primarily due to fragmented supply chains. With its cutting-edge technology, CENSA aims to address these challenges and boost yields, making Africa more resilient to tackle climate change and achieve food security.

Our entry into Africa demonstrates our dedication to revolutionizing the global food ecosystem with CENSA’s world-class Software As a Service (SaaS) solutions.”

The CENSA platform was showcased at the sixth edition of the Africa Agri Expo in Nairobi.

The African continent offers untapped opportunities and diversity in agriculture, offering high-quality farm produce. Despite facing many challenges, such as unpredictable weather and limitations in technology adoption, the continent is poised for growth in its food supply chain infrastructure.

These challenges provide opportunities for innovation and advancements in food security, making Africa a destination for sourcing the finest agricultural produce.

CENSA is a unified tech platform powered by new-age technologies, including Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Language (ML), and the Internet of Things (IoT) at each stage of the food value chain. The platform is designed to bring complete, real-time visibility and controls across the supply chain in terms of demand planning, growing, managing inventory, sales force automation, distribution, and credit management.

WayCool has utilized its platform, CENSA, to efficiently source agricultural produce from 200,000 farmers and prominent Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in India. The platform enables smooth delivery to 1,25,000 customers, including processors, traders, retailers, Hotels, Restaurants and Cafes (HoReCa) brands, and discerning consumers.
