KESSHA evaluate last year’s education score card

The Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association – KESSHA annual delegates’ conference which got underway in the coast region will take stock of last year’s performance in education.

KESSHA national chairman Indimuli Kahi said the 46th ANC which is mainly sponsored by the Kenya Commercial Bank [KCB] will take stock of the old dispensation which comes to the tail end.

He added it’s important to understand the tail end of the scrapped 8-4-4 system to learn the lesson from that end.

“This is so that we can improve on the competency-based curriculum (CBC),” he added.  

Indimuli pointed out that this is the major concern for this year’s secondary schools heads meeting at the coastal city.

He was addressing the media during the 46th ANC held at the famous Sheikh Zayed hall in Mombasa county.

The KESSHA national chairman told the media the invited speakers will discuss burning issues in the education sector.

Indimuli told the forum he expected to tap on international experience on information and communication technologies (ICT) integration.

He added they have invited an envoy to share experience during the COVID 19 pandemic which affected learning.

“We have a key a speaker from the president international confederation of principal to share  education management preparations.          

The KESSHA national chairman told the media  the preparations are in line with the change in the education curriculum.

Indimuli added the five day forum will be best opportunity for them to engage the top government officials to discuss the sector openly.  

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, Higher Education and Research Principal Secretary Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula are among the key speakers in the conference.
