KNPC Paralympic Committee to hold Elections at Nyayo

The entire Kenya National paralympic committee(KNPC)and their affiliates will assemble this morning at the Nyayo National Stadium to elect officials who will run the body.
The eagerly awaited exercise, according to KNPC President Agnes Oluoch will kick off at 10am where for the first time, a representative from the African Paralympic Committee as well as the International Paralympic Committee will grace the occasion.
Olouch who has been at the helm of KNPC will go unopposed. Other seats that shall not be contested include; Treasurer seat which is currently held by Lenar Marita and the Women Representative position held by Anna Ngendo respectively.
The International paralympic committee has also announced several changes that include the scrapping of Deputy Secretary and Treasurer’s position.
The Secretary General position has attracted Grace Wahura and Stanley Mutuma, while the Vice President post will be contested by three officials namely Alfred Simiyu, Elijah Aliero, and Bhaveet Chudasama respectively.
Several Federations have also joined KNPC. They include;
- Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation of Kenya
- Kenya Sports Association for the Visually Impaired
- Wheelchair Basketball Federation of Kenya
- Sitting Volleyball Federation of Kenya
- Kenya Boccia Sports Federation
- Wheelchair Rugby Union of Kenya
- Kenya Lawn Tennis Federation of Kenya
- Kenya Taekwondo Federation
- Kenya Cycling Federation
- Wheelchair Curling Federation of Kenya
- Triathlon Federation of Kenya
among others
