KPA board vows to support Bandari Football Club

The Kenya Ports Authority [KPA] board of directors will have a round table discussion with Bandari Football Club Board of Trustees to improve team performances.

Newly appointed KPA chairman Benjamin Tayari said despite the team losing to AFC Leopards  2-0 he was impressed by the performance at the final whistle.

He said they will engage the team’s Board of Trustees with an open mind to know the problems the team is facing.

‘It’s important to know what the team requires to enable it to get better league results,’ he pointed out.  

Tayari said he is still in the learning process on the team’s performance and assured them he will the talk with the team.

He was addressing journalists after attending the state corporation’s league match played at KPA Mbaraki sports club in Mombasa county.

The KPA board chairman told journalists the board will ensure the team remains at the league summit.

Tayari added his attendance to watch the Sunday fixture is part and parcel of his familiarization tour since he was appointed to succeed former KPA Chairman Gen (Rtd) Joseph Kibwana after officially handing over.

He told journalists the players’ incentive will be part of the agenda of the meeting with club’s Board of Trustees.

‘We are going  to do our best to keep the name of the state of corporation,’ he pointed out.

The KPA boss assured the team’s board he will ensure they get what they want and deserve to achieve better results.

Tayari urged the club fans not to despair with the lost match against visiting AFC as the team performed well.

He challenged them to be proud that he is youth among them and assured them he will steer the team to the next level.

‘We have a duty to steer the team to get better results,’ he  added.  

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems said his win has proved his critics wrong.

He insisted his mission was to collect three points and he is satisfied with the Sunday fixture.

‘Let the critics of the team’s performance hold their horses as the league is still young and has a long way to go,’ he said.
