Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has condemned an incident on social media in which unruly boda boda riders have been captured in a video clip sexually assaulting a female motorist along Wangari Maathai Road in Nairobi.

She said it is regrettable that a woman should be subjected to such vile behaviour by a group of men in this century.

“It is the same women who you attack that gave birth to you and they thus deserve respect,” she pointed out.

Mishi said the incident comes at a time when the world is celebrating the international women’s day.

She spoke during an awarding ceremony to commemorate the international women’s day

2022 held at Mama Ngina Waterfront in Mombasa county organized by Pwani Women Caucus.

The lawmaker said women play a critical role in the development of the country and they deserve respect.

Mishi termed the sexual assault on the female motorist as barbaric and that the culprits deserve severe punishment.

She appealed to the judiciary to take severe action against the attackers so that it can be a lesson to others.

“Let them face the consequences and the court should deny them bail for embarrassing and torturing the female driver in public,” she pointed out.

The local legislator said it was wrong for the boda boda riders to take the law into their

own hands.

Mishi said the riders should serve as a warning to those who take the law into their own hands.

She wondered why she was molested yet she was not under any kind of trial.

“We demand justice and the molesters should face the law and answer for their crime,” she added.
