Lonyangapuo roots for dairy farming for economic growth

West Pokot farmers will now benefit from the distribution of dairy animals and other farming incentives announced by Governor John Lonyangapuo.
The governor has announced the allocation of funds to purchase livestock for farmers so that they can better their lives.
The process of identifying households and requisite farmers for the new program will begin next month. “I want a county where all farmers can feel better. Services must reach everyone during my term. That’s what I will do. Said Lonyangapuo,”
The Governor was last week rated among the best performing among the 47 county Governments. He emerged at position 5 scoring 73% after Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Salim Mvurya, Hassan Joho, and Anyang Nyong’o.
He at the same time appealed to West Pokot residents to read and understand the contents of the BBI document before discussing it in rallies with politicians who are opposed to the document.
He was speaking when he hosted ODM leader and Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in his county. They later addressed the press conference and implored on the leaders from the area to support BBI.
The Governor who is serving his first term has been credited for expanding the education sector in the county. Other areas he has been applauded for include drilling of boreholes and expanding feeder roads.
