Governor Kenneth Lusaka flagged off eight disciplines set to represent the county in the Kenya Inter-County Sports and Cultural Associations (KICOSCA) 2023 in Meru County on Saturday morning.

“You’re our flag bearers. Carry yourselves with decorum because you undoubtedly have what it takes to go forth and emerge victorious,” he advised.

Lusaka expressed optimism in the vetted teams, committing his full support to ensuring they put Bungoma on the map.

“The vetting committee led by the Ministry of Gender, Culture, Youth, and Sports has selected the crème de la crème; rest assured, we are fully behind you,” Lusaka affirmed.

The KICOSCA, 10th edition, is geared towards strengthening inter-county relations, promoting national cohesion, and nurturing talents in the country.

The highly popularised games set to take place from August 20th to 26th will see Bungoma County teams showcase their prowess in football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, cultural dances, folk songs, and netball, among others.

The ceremony at the county headquarters was attended by CECMS: Eng. Agnes Wachiye (Gender and Sports), Carolyn Makali (Trade), Benedict Emachar (Public Administration), Chief Officers, and senior county officials.
