Several leader small group leaders drawn from across the country representing Minority and Marginalized Communities have asked both the County and National Governments to ensure that they are included in them going forward.

Addressing the media from a Nairobi Hotel on Wednesday, the leaders led by Amos Ledaa, Chairman of Minority and Marginalized Communities said the groups have been severely disadvantaged by successful government since independence and now say it was time they were fully incorporated in both County and National Government leadership and affairs.

‘We want both the County and National governments to remember that we are also Kenyans with equal rights like any other tribe. We want to be involved in all affairs like any other communities. We are tired of favours of getting nominated to this or that post in County and National governments.’ Ledaa said.

Ledaa also asked both the Senate and National Assembly to enact laws as specified under Articles 27 (6), 100 of the constitution to see to it that their interests are fully catered for as envisioned by the constitution.

The communities also took the opportunity to launch a ‘professional group for the marginalized’ which they said will seek to champion their interest bot at County and National Governments.
