Mombasa to host Captain’s Prize Golf Tourney
After successfully hosting this year’s Mombasa golf club Lady Captain’s Prize [Gladys Kasi] tournament last weekend the focus now shifts to club Captain’s Prize (Lawrence Odhiambo) tomorrow [Friday] with Safaricom being the main sponsors of the tournament at the same venue.
Briefing the media after the tournament she said the participants on the first day of the tournament will be men only.
Apart from the main sponsors Kenya Airways, Swiss Singapore, Tea Warehouse Ltd, Atlas Tea Brokers, Combrok Ltd. and Friends of the Captain have also come on board as co-sponsors.
The men’s day will be medal format while on the second day it will be subsidiary format with other sponsors on board.
The club lady captain Gladys Kasi told journalists she was faced with challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
She regretted they were not able to hold a series of tournaments at the club as a result of the outbreak of the deadly disease.
“We expected this year it will different but it is just like the previous year,” she said.
