The results of my test for the third wave of the COVID-19 shocked me.

Jomvu MP Badi Twalib was placed under home-based care after he tested positive for COVID-19.

He said he had thought it was fatigue after spending much time at work and accompanying ODM party leader Raila Odinga on his fact finding tour in the coast region.

“Let me be honest that the positive results were shocking news to me,” he pointed out.

Badi said his wife was the first person he told about the coronavirus test results and she advised him to seek medical attention.

He narrated his ordeal to journalists at his private home in Jomvu in Mombasa county after the completion of his home-based care and isolation after contracting the virus.

The legislator told journalists he was hospitalized the same night and a day later Raila also tested positive after his tour of the coast region.

Badi said his hospitalization coincided with the admission to hospital of Raila and the late Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange.

He thanked the Almighty God for being alive and the discharging of Raila from hospital adding that he had to send his message of condolence to the family of Koinange who passed on.

“I have turned one of my guest rooms into a gym for my daily physical fitness exercises,” he pointed out.

The legislator urged members of the public to adhere to the health protocol to guard themselves against contracting the pandemic.

Badi cautioned members of the public to take the government guidelines seriously and to desist from defying the government health protocol.

He said his public declaration of being a victim of the pandemic is to give courage to those diagnosed with the deadly virus.

“The pandemic is a matter of life and death and as a result I have turned one of my rooms into my private office for the time being,” he said.

The MP lauded efforts being made by the government to contain the spread of the deadly disease.
