MP Decries Delayed Compensation on Hospital Land

Kathiani MP, Hon. Robert Mbui asked the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development on the compensation of owners following compulsory acquisition of land by the Government in 1985.

Eight individuals were the land owners that gave way to accommodate the expansion of Kathiani Level 4 Hospital.

He asserts that the Government has compensated only five of residents and neglected the valuation and compensation of the remaining three land owners, namely Mr. Mwilu Mwema Kalondu and Mr. John Musyoka Telela, joint owners of Mitaboni/Kathiani/135, and Mr. Masuva Mweu of Mitaboni/Katiani/139.

He further sought responses on when the Cabinet Secretary intends to pay this long overdue compensation to the distressed land owners.

The question is to be replied before the Departmental Committee on Lands.
