Nairobi residents fault Wiper,want Sonko back in the City
A section of Nairobi residents have faulted the move by Wiper party to give former Nairobi governor a direct ticket for the Mombasa governor seat instead of Nairobi.
The residents, mostly women and youths from informal settlements have decried the move and believe that Sonko should have been given an opportunity to complete his projects in Nairobi.
” We don’t recognize this issue of Mombasa! What we want is Sonko back in Nairobi even if it’s under the Unga Revolution Party,” one of the women screamed
” Sonko really helped us and l am one of those who reformed from the street life because of his intervention and that is why l want him back,” the frustrated young man said.
A young man who claimed to have reformed from the street life due to Sonko’s intervention also said that he cannot stand Sonko’s move to Mombasa at the expense of Nairobi.
Sonko was cleared by Wiper party on Thursday and will now face off with ODMs AbdullNassir and UDAs Hassan Omar.
Political observers opine that his entry in the race automatically changes the dynamics because of his nature of politics.
