The National Youth Council has expressed optimism in youth in leadership especially emanating from the recently concluded general elections that saw a large number of youths clinch various seats.

According to the chief executive officer of the council Mr Roy Sasaka Telewa, he exuded confidence in youth leaders whom he urged and called upon to use the opportunity wisely to push their agenda forward.

“This is testament that young people will never be marginalised or categorised as such. Youths have now been brought to the fore and will henceforth occupy a special place in the decision making table. My challenge to the elected young leaders is that you have been given a mantle. I urge you not to betray the course. We look forward to greater policies and brilliant pieces of leadership born by our youthful leaders,” Mr Roy said.

The Youth champion also urged the losers in the elections to accept the Wanjiku’s verdict and move on.
“When you go into an election process you must have. Winners and losers. I want to assure them that all is not lost. Let’s synergise and support the elected leaders for the betterment of our country Kenya.”
