No Sex If You Haven’t Registered as Voter Women Now Say

Women from the coast region have resolved to make it mandatory for men to register as voters ahead of the August polls failure to which they should be denied their conjugal rights as husbands.

Presidential voter mobilization squad coast region  patron Lillian Otieno urged women to ensure they have sex with their husbands only when they register as voters.

She insisted men should be denied their conjugal rights if they fail to register as voters ahead of the polls.    

“Let women stick with the plan of ensuring their husbands have registered as voters before thinking of having sex with them,” she said.

Lillian asked women to ensure their husbands have a voter’s card to qualify to enjoy their conjugal rights..

She spoke during a media briefing held at Akamba Handicraft in Changamwe constituency, Mombasa county during a voter sensitization program.

The Presidential voter mobilization squad coast region patron said the program is under Azimio Ya  Umoja movement to ensure voters register in large numbers to enable ODM party leader Raila Odinga to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in this year’s polls.  

Lillian asked girlfriends to follow suit by denying their boyfriends sex unless they register as voters.

She argued the pace of the second phase of the mass voter registration exercise is slow.

“Women are  the backbone in their homes and men must work with them for the smooth running of domestic affairs,” she said.      

Speaking at the voluntary forum, a local Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official in change of voter education Susan Atokh denied claims the electoral body has taken a stand ahead of the polls.  

She insisted the electoral body will play a neutral role before and after this year’s polls.

“The electoral body has encouraged eligible voters to register in large numbers to ensure they participate in the forthcoming polls,” she pointed out.

On her part, a Changamwe resident Sabina Omari urged youths to be on  the forefront to ensure they register as voters before this year’s polls.

She said they have resolved to voluntarily sensitize youths on the importance of registering as voters ahead of the polls.

“Our target in the program is to ensure youths register in large numbers,” she said.
