Nyamakima Traders Fault Government Position on Anti Counterfeit
A lobby group under the auspices of Nyamakima Traders Lobby Group has expressed disappointment with the outgoing administration for bringing down their businesses.
The Lobby Group claim that their woes started in 2015 when his excellency the president Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Polycarp Igathe to head the Anti Counterfeit Agency.
James Mungai of the lobby group says, “We’d like to register our regrets with the outgoing government with the way they treat us. When the president appointed Polycarp Igathe to head the Anti Counterfeit Agency, the traders felt the pinch when most of their goods were deemed unfit for human consumption. We praise whoever will take over the mantle of leadership of the Nairobi City County to handle with caution the importation of goods rendering millions of losses to traders.”
Jackson says they were unable to clear the containers rendering many people jobless. If Polycarp was unable to manage as the Chairman of Anti Counterfeit Agency, how can he handle the Nairobi City County?” he quipped.
They continue to argue their case out saying the economy of Nyamakima was badly affected.
They are now throwing their support behind the candidature of Agnes Kagure saying she is the best suited to lead the city.
“We as Nyamakima Traders we will never forget that when the president appointed Polycarp Igathe to head the Anti Counterfeit Agency is when our troubles started. And we shall never forgive him.”
