The 16 aspirants on Sunday wrote to the party’s election board where they listed grounds through which they want the outcome of the exercise nullified.

William Melita, who read an official statement on behalf of the group said that the tallying of results was inconsistent, blaming the incumbent of allegedly creating ghost poling stations to manipulate the final results.

” Our grievances range from inconsistent tallying of results, creation of ghost polling stations within Karen Ward by the incumbent and doctoring of MCA votes in contrast to tye actual turnout,” Melita said.

According to Vinton Simotei, the aspirants want the party to nullify the results and call for a consensus meeting.

” We are asking for nothing else but complete nullification and an immediate consensus meeting via the elections board,” Vinton said.

Mia Wairimu Mutahi complained that come Aspirants got zero votes despite voting for themselves and getting support from friend and family members.

” Some of us spent alot of resources and energy campaigning and we are told that we got zero votes! How,” she wondered

The incumbent David Mberia has served as Karen Ward MCA since 2013 but was first elected as a councilor in 2007 under the defunct Nairobi City Council.

The ward is so special because it is home to the political heavyweights in the country among them ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.

Sunday 24th was the deadline the party set for receiving complaints against nominations results.
