After the association of real estate stakeholders highlighted the struggles property owners have been going through while trying to get their title deeds, there seems to be light at the end of it with the government now commissioning a rapid team that will oversee the whole exercise.

A few days ago, Chair Association of Real Estate Stakeholders Kinyua Wairatu said the delays have caused significant inconveniences and hardships for families who may wish to use the vital documents for other purposes.

In particular, Wairatu noted some of the registries with such delays are in Kajiado, Nanyuki, Nanyuki and Kilifi.

However, Wairatu has lauded the government for acting timely saying that such actions portray a good partnership.

The pressure from the developers appears to have caught up with the government with Cabinet Secretary lands, public works, housing and urban development Zacharia Njeru on Monday commissioned a team that will across land registries to spearhead the process.

Njeru said the team will be tasked to address the delays of titles as well as roll-out the cashless revenue collection policy.

The CS further notes that in the future they will be having more consolations from the developers in their quest to restore confidence in the sector.
