Secondary school heads to converge in coast region

All heads of secondary schools will be heading to Mombasa county for the 46th Kenya Secondary School Heads Association [KESSHA] annual delegates conference.

According to a tentative program dispatched to media houses the five  day event will be held at the famous Sheikh Zayed hall in Mombasa county from June 26 to 30.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu is expected to preside over the official opening ceremony.

This year’s theme of the one week event is “Enhancing Effectiveness and Efficiency of Education in Kenya”.

The forum will be best opportunity for secondary school heads to air their grievances on the ailing sector which is faced with confusion.

The meeting comes less than a month after the CS was quoted refuting claims the sector is faced with a crisis in learning institutions across the country following reports of delayed release of funds to schools.

The meeting will be held at the coastal city when the education ministry reschedules mid-term break for the second term to run from June 27th to July 1st.

Higher Education and Research Principal Secretary Dr. Beatrice Inyangala is listed as among key speakers during the forum at  the port city.

Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang is scheduled to speak during the official opening day.

Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula will be closing the conference before the meeting’s resolutions are read out.    

Prior to the kick off of the meeting KESSHA will hold their  

N.E.C meeting at the Travellers Beach Hotel in Mombasa county.
