A caucus dubbed South Sudan government in exile plans to bring the much needed change in the country on the brink of collapse.

Kush Democratic Majority Party is ready to challenge President Salva Kiir and the Sudan People Liberation Movement for the May 2023 election in South Sudan. Bol Gai Deng, the “President in exile” said, “We are seeking the support of a broad coalition of individuals interested in the democratic rule of law and the progressive advancement of citizens’ rights in South Sudan.”

He decried the senseless loss of life attributing it to a vacuum in leadership. “This is not a tribal war. Its lack of leadership,” he said.

In a news conference in a Nairobi hotel, he said they are aiming at pushing for election and end the chaos through election of a good government that will respect the rule of law.

“Women and children suffer the most in times of war, thus, we demand the president to resign and allow south Sudanese to go to election,” Bol added.

“The peaceful and democratic mean is what we are pushing for through the Mou we have signed with coalition partners,” he added.
