StarTimes Unveils “A Glimpse of China in the New Era” Documentary Series to Strengthen Sino-African Ties

In a bid to foster stronger ties and promote trade between Africa and China, StarTimes, has unveiled a groundbreaking 12-piece documentary series titled ‘A Glimpse of China in the New Era.’

The series aims to spotlight the success stories of Africans who have thrived in China, shedding light on their achievements and contributions to the dynamic landscape of Sino-African relations.

Speaking during media briefing, Myke Mwai, the Head of Public Relations and Content Syndication at StarTimes, emphasized that the initiative is not only about showcasing success stories but also about unraveling the rich tapestry of Chinese culture.

He believes that a deeper understanding of the Chinese way of life will pave the way for a more harmonious working relationship between the people of China and Africa.

“We want to go beyond promoting trade; we want to bridge the cultural gap and create a platform for mutual understanding. This, we believe, will contribute to a more robust and productive relationship between Africa and China,” said Mr. Mwai.

The documentary series is set to air on Novela E and Zone bouquet throughout November and December, reaching a wide audience and celebrating success stories that transcend national boundaries.

He said that StarTimes aims to showcase the diversity of achievements by Africans in China, inspiring viewers and fostering a sense of pride in the global African community.

Mr. Mwai highlighted the importance of this cultural exchange, emphasizing that it goes beyond the screen.

“Understanding the Chinese culture is the key to unlocking new avenues of cooperation and business between Africans and the Chinese. This documentary series is not just entertainment; it’s an educational journey that opens doors for Kenyan entrepreneurs and creates a foundation for fruitful collaborations.” He said.

He further revealed that, StarTimes plans to embark on a nationwide tour with Nairobi, Kisumu, and Mombasa as focal points.

The tour aims to interact with subscribers, encouraging them to tune in and witness the compelling narratives of fellow Africans who have made their mark in China.
