Three in Custody Over Theft of County Medical Supplies

Nairobi City County Enforcement team arrested three people suspected to have stolen health services commodities and supplies at the Lady Northey hospital early today morning.

The three were operating a Toyota van full of stolen medicines that were recently flagged off by Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson. They were arrested and taken to Kilimani Police station.

” I have deployed over 100 Police officers in all county health facilities to ensure security is provided to not only the health facilities but also patients,” said Governor Sakaja.

He added that any staff found stealing medical commodities, equipment meant to benefit Nairobians will not only be arrested, but I will personally ensure they are jailed.

“Nairobians have suffered enough due to lack of drugs and therefore anyone standing in the way of service delivery will face the music” he added

Last week Governor Sakaja flagged off medical commodities worth Sh244 Million at City Hall after receiving the consignment from Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) after a three year hiatus.
