Wajir MCAs Initiate Impeachment of Governor Mohamud

Wajir Members of County Assembly have kicked off the process of kicking out Governor Abdi Mohamud.
The MCAs tabled a notice of the governor’s impeachment motion on August 17, almost two weeks ago.
“Kindly find attached notices of motion regarding the impeachment of Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud for onward transmission and approval,” read a section of the notice seen by The Times.
The motion was moved by Benane MCA Abdi Sheikh.
It was not immediately clear why relations between the county boss and the MCAs had gone sour.
Governor Mohamud joins a lengthening list of county bosses who are currently at loggerheads with their MCAs.
Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru are still fighting to complete their terms following impeachment attempts by county MCAs.
