We are ready for the ODM nominations- Stazo

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Nairobi youth league president and Upper Savannah MCA Elijah Stazo Omung’ala has vowed to make a great impact in the forthcoming ODM party nominations.

The former AFC Leopards official said he is not worried by reports that the ODM party is intending to dish out direct nomination tickets to key party politicians including himself.

“I’m not shaken with reports ODM is planning to issue direct party ticket.im even ready to face off with other aspirants in the ODM party primaries set to kick off from April.” he noted.

He exuded confidence that he will carry the day at the nominations,adding that he was more than ready to face his opponents.

“I am ready for the nominations because I know I will win early in the morning.”Stazo said.

“In case my party ODM decides to reward my loyalty to the party with a direct ticket, I will be grateful because that would mean that we don’t engage in internal party campaigns and therefore our party votes remain intact. However, I am ready to face off with competitors for the ODM ticket and I am sure that I will retain my seat in Upper Savannah,” Stazo added.

Stazo said that his track record in initiating development in Upper Savannah will guarantee him a win back to the county assembly and as such, he is ready to face the party primaries and the general elections.

“I am not afraid to face anyone and I want to go all the way. I am confident that we have worked for the people and my re-election is not in question. I would be happy if I was rewarded with the direct ticket of ODM, which is a big party in Nairobi.

Several ODM luminaries ranging from governors to Members of the County Assemblies (MCA) have already been issued with the tickets.

On Friday last week, Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku became the first senior leader to be issued with a direct nomination certificate publicly, moments after he decamped from Jubilee Party to join the ODM party.
The Party will issue more direct tickets to several top officials contesting for various seats at all levels.

Top on the list of Direct Nominations include several leaders in Nairobi among them ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna, Nominated Senator Beatrice Kwamboka, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Makadara MP George Aladwa.

ODM Nairobi youth league president and Upper Savannah MCA Elijah Stazo Omung’ala leads the list of direct ticket beneficiaries at the ward level following his active party popularisation efforts that he has spearheaded in the city.
