Why Ruto believes Uhuru betrayed him and Jubilee Party

Deputy President William Ruto is not sitting pretty after President Uhuru Kenyatta hinted that he will Llikely support a NASA candidate for the Presidency during the 2022 General Elections.
In a series of tweets on Tuesday, DP Ruto insinuated that the Head of State betrayed him and his supporters who supported him in the 2013 and 2022 General Elections, in which the NASA brigade was their main opponents.
Seemingly frutrated by the President’s utterances and owing to the fact that Ruto had supported him in both elections in which they won, he took to twitter to vent his frustrations.
“So, was the destruction/dismembering of Jubilee, a national party, meant to pave way for support of regional/tribal parties in Nasa?” He posted on his Twitter account Tuesday.
In the same platform, the second in command said that he was ready to chart his own political destiny now that the President had chosen to abandon the Jubilee Party bandwagon and its stalwarts.
“Now, with the collapse of Jubilee, isn’t it fair for those who can’t fit in ethnic parties to build UDA as an alternative national party? Ama?” He added.
Earlier in the day, DP Ruto had also taken to his twitter account where he expressed his apparent disgust with the President’s remarks on his likely support of a NASA candidate when elections are called.
“EUCHO!!NGAI FAFA MWATHANI!! So, what happens to the Thurakus, the kumìrà kùmèrà contingent, the 8 million of us?? None, no youth, no woman, no man of the 8M who woke up early and voted 3 times for UK/WsR ticket merit support?” DP Ruto tweeted.
“Sawa tu! Tutajipanga na support ya MUNGU,” He said
Ruto’s apparent outburst was perhaps amplified by President Kenyatta’s sentiments during a State House meeting with a delegation of leaders from the Ukambani region led by Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka.
The Head of State openly acknowledged that since he closed ranks with members of the opposition, after the divisive 2018 elections, he had managed to concentrate on fulfilling his promises to Kenyans.
“Working in conjunction with my colleagues, I have been able to focus on the development agenda, not the political agenda,” He said.
Yet, this was not the first time Ruto had furiously responded to his boss. In January, the DP appeared angered by sentiments made by the President to the effect that there are many communities in Kenya and that leadership should not be in the hands of only a few tribes.
During the campaigns ahead of the 2017 polls, Uhuru is on record saying that he was to lead the country for ten years then hand over the baton to his second in command who, according to their plan, was also to get Jubilee’s full support to enable him capture the Presidency and run the country for ten years. That is now water under the bridge if the recent happenings is anything to go by. It is an open secret that the two are no longer reading from the same script.
