Why Weldios University conferred Babu Owino with Horonarry Degree

Benin based Weldios University of Management and Technology conferred Embakasi East MP Babu Owino with a Horonarry Doctorate Degree in political leadership.

The university which is among the leading tech universities in Africa also invited the legislator to be a keynote speaker at its convocation ceremony slated for November 11,2023.

This was confirmed by the university’s registrar Dr. Magnus U.Kel.

” May I on behalf of the Senate and Board of Weldios University formally inform you that upon your nomination and careful evaluation and scrutiny of your profile,antecedence and contributions to society by the Weldios Selection Committee,the university shall be conferring the prestigious Weldios Honorary Doctorate Degree ( PhD Honoraris Causa) in political leadership at the Weldios University eagle set convocation ceremony in Cotonou Benin Republic,” the university wrote.

The MP will be among many inspiring young African leaders to be honoured.

Babu grew up from humble to greater heights in his political career.

He recently revealed that he was born and raised in a poor family and that his family members did not have the privilege to attend school.

His family survived on selling chang’aa( traditional brew)which in most cases led to several house raids by policemen.

His family decided to send one of them to school and it happened to him.

After finishing is Primary School studies he joined Kisumu Boy’s Secondary School in 2003.In 2008, he joined the University of Nairobi for a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and graduated with First Class Honors in 2012. In 2013, he went back to Nairobi University (UoN) to pursue a degree in Law.

Babu has been ranked as one of the best performing MPs in Kenya and has been an inspiration to many aspiring leaders.

His love for education has seen him prioritise improvement of education standards through better utilisation of the NG- CDF funds.

He has also helped sponsor needy students to complete their studies.The MP has also adopted various children whom he is supporting.

He has ambitions to be Nairobi Governor on Kenya’s 2027 elections.
