Mwea Parliamentary aspirant the Honourable Winnie Karimi, has exuded confidence in the intellectual capability of Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua who’s seeking the second topmost office.

Mrs Winnie, a respectable and personable likeable leader, is not new in politics since she was the first Woman representative of Kirinyaga County and achieved so much in her score card that remains unrivalled.

“I’m here to solidly affirm my support for Martha Karua as the second in command,” Mrs Winnie said at a dinner event in honour of the narc Kenya leader.

To prove her support for Martha, ,Hon Winnie is vying in Mwea with a Narc Kenya party ticket and she plans to facelift the rice-rich constituency.

Asked what she will give priority once given the office as Member of Parliament Mwea constituency, she said,

“I believe that the Mwea residents have been side-lined for far too long, and it is time for us to redeem ourselves. Most of our grievances fall on deaf ears, especially concerning the tarmacking of our road such as the Kimbimbi-Ngucwi-Kanjinji-Togonye-Murinduko road as well as major roads within the constituency. Furthermore, the plight of Mwea rice farmers has been ignored by the powers that be. Considering that cost of labour, equipment, and material has exponentially increased over the last decade, the market prices of our rice have stagnated. I will lobby for the subsidy of fertilizer for registered rice farmers (as it can be achieved since it has been done before among tea farmers) and facilitate instant payment for farmers who deliver rice to the government-sponsored society. It is our time for us to be heard as we are the economic hub of Kirinyaga County. I am committed and determined to increase our presence in the national arena to enhance our voice!”

The founder of “Tujenge Mwea na Mama

Added, “My  vision is to seek lasting solutions for the  needs of the Mwea community , including orphans, elderly, youth, disabled, women, farmers and small businesses. I have pioneered several projects in kirinyaga, which continue to have a positive  impact. I plan to continue the work I have already begun through: equal educational opportunities for all, Sustainable living for youths, job creation, clean water, better infrastructure and roads, better returns for farmers, better representation for the marginalised, and better leadership.

From The Times newsdesk we take this opportunity to wish Mrs Winnie all the best in her endeavours.
