Aladwa Forced to Flee After Supporters Clash

Makadara member of Parliament George Aladwa was today forced to flee Kaloleni handball pitch after a fight erupted between his supporters and those of Makongeni area MCA Peter Imwatok.

The meeting was held to elect ODM party leaders at the Makadara Sub–county level.
The meeting did not last for more than 20 minutes because of the skirmishes.

According to Carol Lunani, the meeting ended abruptly after they were thrown out of the venue by goons.
It was at this point that Hon Aladwa flee the venue with the help of bodyguards.

“We had a meeting with the ODM delegates and our expectations were high because it was a party meeting and in not less than 20 minutes, a fight begun and that is how the meeting ended and we were thrown out of the venue,” Said Carol.

She also requested the members of the ODM party to make sure that there is peace when organizing grassroots elections.

“We are requesting as Kaloleni residents and members of the ODM party that the next time they plan a meeting they should make sure that it is peaceful and the security is checked on so that we can have a clear picture of what the future holds,” She added.

Achieng says that her friend was hurt in the process and they have reported the matter at the Makongeni Police Station.

“When the fight started we asked the boys why they were causing a fight and they said they were sent by the area MP, when we further questioned him, he turned and hit my friend on her ear without any valid reason. We have reported the matter at the Makongeni Police Station after vising the hospital,” Achieng said.
