The Kenya Kwanza administration is a shaken government and is unable to address the rising cost of living.

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga lashed out at the Kenya Kwanza government for failing to address the escalating cost of living.

He said life for Kenyans is unbearable since President William Ruto took over from the Jubilee administration after last year’s general election.

“Our mission is to embrace better living standards for our own ordinary citizens,” he pointed out.

Raila reiterated that Azimio’s priority if they had succeeded in ascending to power would have been to cut the high cost of living.

He was addressing coalition delegates drawn from the coast region at Wild Waters Centre in Nyali Constituency, Mombasa County.

The Azimio leader pointed out things in the country have moved from bad to worse in terms of prices of basic commodities which have gone up.

Raila scoffed at the Ruto’s administration for failure to address the challenges facing the country.

He criticized the government for taking advantage of the drought to import commodities at the expense of the country.

“The government is using the importation of commodities as a cash cow,” he added.

The former Prime Minister said the government had a hidden agenda in declining to support the subsidy program.

Raila said the government’s intention of opening the doors for importation of commodities is to kill the local factories.

He insisted the scheme is to enrich their friends at the expense of the taxpayers.

“The government has opened a window of opportunity for tenders for the friends the political elite to operate businesses,” he said.
