Agricultural Society of Kenya [ASK] Coast branch has launched a marketing strategy to woo more exhibitors to this year’s Mombasa international show.

ASK chairperson Anisa Abdallah confirmed they have engaged in a door to door motivation to woo more exhibitors to the five day event.

She said they have resolved to do things differently from the previous years through door to door campaigns to woo exhibitors to showcase their produce and products.

Anisa defended the new idea to woo more exhibitors to this year’s international show.

She was addressing the media at Mkomani ground in Nyali constituency, Mombasa county. She had a session with exhibitors ahead of this year’s show starting from September 6 to 10.

The ASK coast region boss told the media the local show executive has resolved to woo exhibitors to this year’s event.

Anisa further told the media their mission is to woo back the previous exhibitors to this year’s event.

She added that this year’s show will not be business as usual where exhibitors come to them but vice-versa.

“We are engaged in a conversation with the exhibitors ahead of the event,” she emphasized.

The ASK Coast branch chairperson said the Mombasa International Show have lauded the society’s initiative to woo them back to the event.

Anisa disclosed she is optimistic the number of local exhibitors will increase compared to last year through their initiative to woo them back.

She refuted claims the change of the dates to September from end of August will affect the turn out of show goers.

“The change of the date for the event will have no impact but it is in line with the school learning calendar  and programme,” she pointed out.

The Mombasa International Show (M.I.S) was established in 1903 and is situated on the North Coast of the Coastal Resort City of Mombasa.

The show is 20kms from the Moi International Airport.

M.I.S was elevated in 2002 to an International status to attract investors and players in the agriculture, trade and tourism sectors.
