The Ford Kenya Youth League from Kimilili Sub County held elections on Friday to put in place an interim office that will spearhead youth affairs within the party.

In a press statement, Caleb Kundu, who was elected as the party Secretary General, expressed his gratitude to the members and promised to push the development agenda in the region at all costs.

“Today we have assembled here as legitimate Ford Kenya Youth members to strengthen our leadership in Kimilili in line with our political party structure and vision. We shall remain focused as we formally undertake our mandate as given by our members,” said Kundu.

Alex Wanyama, elected Youth Leader/Chair, on his part vowed to fully represent the Western Kenya giant party by strategically constituting and operationalizing its grass-roots structure.

“It is with great humility that I take up this mantle to spearhead Ford Kenya’s party activities ahead of a massive membership recruitment drive in pursuit of fortifying our dominance not only in Kimilili but beyond,” reiterated Wanyama.

He further disclosed that the Ford Kenya-allied youths have resolved to work tirelessly to ensure the party scoops all MCA and parliamentary seats.

Chulula, one of the party members, lauded the elected leaders, citing that they will be the game changers since they have never won a parliamentary seat since the regime of Eseli Simiyu and Suleiman Murunga.

“Through our able and vibrant youth leadership, we are certain that it’s time for the lion party to roar again in Kimilili constituency,” affirmed Chulula.

The unanimously elected officials include: Alex Wanyama as chairperson, Caleb Kundu as secretary general, Kelvin Wakwabubi as treasurer, Stephen Mukanda as organising secretary, Abigael Masika as communications director, and Joshua Nalianya as head of security.
