Huawei technologies is strengthening its grip on the smart office market segment as organizations deploy more technologies around the workplace in a bid to improve their operational efficiencies and business productivity.

This move, said the firm, comes on the back of a rising need for more stable connectivity and file sharing between phones and computers.

Speaking at the Mobile World Congress in the Spanish city of Barcelona, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group said many organizations were at a point where they are now shifting into a higher degree of collaboration between staff in different geographical areas, using various devices and therefore need technology that can handle a broad range of functions seamlessly.

“Huawei’s Seamless AI Life strategy in which deeper impact on the smart office is paramount, is underpinned by the recognition that business environments today need equipment that will deliver multiple solutions without complicated wiring and cabling infrastructure or hinderance by distance,” explained Yu, pointing out that people increasingly need to send videos, voice recordings, large presentations and move across different places while working.

He added the firm’s response to the evolving operational environment and needs covered developing a new range of computing equipment and software, including ramping up its App Store capabilities, building its first ever printer and all -in-one personal computer as well as a new generation 2 in 1 laptop computer and the new HarmonyOS tablet.

With the smart office capabilities, one device can be connected to others after their icons are dragged together, forming a Super Device system, allowing each device to serve as a functional module so that their capabilities and resources can be shared.

The release of these new devices brings Huawei one step closer to accomplishing its vision for smart offices, “Boundless Creation and Seamless Communication” and follows recent iconic market additions that include the OneHop capability for connection and file sharing between Huawei phones and PCs and a multi-screen collaboration that displays a phone as a window on a connected tablet or PC.

“In the new smart office environment, users can enjoy an efficient video conference after they connect a PC to a smart screen to form a Super Device. They can open up to three windows of a phone on the PC screen after the two devices are connected for multi-tasking. They can enjoy greater productivity with a Super Device formed by a PC and monitor. Or they can unleash their creativity with a Super Device that is made of a PC, tablet and stylus,” noted Yu.

The new super device system highlights Huawei’s latest technological advancements and marks another solid step towards its ultimate goal of creating a Seamless AI Life. As the Super Device feature is made available to more devices for seamless connection and collaboration, Huawei will continue to innovate with consumers as the heart of its business, creating a better digital experience for users.

Huawei also launched the Huawei Mobile App Engine, which allows PC users to tap into the rich variety of content in AppGallery for fresh experiences, enriching the PC app ecosystem.
