Westlands Mp Tim Wanyonyi is believed to be heading to UDA few days after his Brother Moses Wetangula shifted his loyalty to Rutos party.
Wanyonyi has for long been a close friend to the family of ODM leader Raila Odinga and Mama Ida Odinga.But ever since he declared his bid for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat, he has been engaging in unprecedented blackmail, trying everything possible to play the tribal card as a way of securing President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga’s support for his bid.
After realising that things are not working in his favour, Wanyonyi is said to be pulling all manner of mindgames,with reports indicating that he met UDA officials in Nairobi, threatening to quit ODM if he is not nominated as the Azimio La Umoja candidate.
Makadara MP George Aladwa is on record warning that Tim Wanyonyi’s loyalty could be elsewhere, considering that his most trusted brother Moses Wetangula has declared support for Deputy President William Ruto who is Raila’s main opponent in the August elections.
The entire Azimio La Umoja brigade has been warned to keep a close eye on Tim, who is rumoured to be secretly feeding the Tangatanga team with information from the Azimio team.
According to aclose source who sort anonymity, said Wanyonyi is set to join UDA early February and vie for Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
“Our Boss is aware that he will not be given Azimio Ticket because of Ngatias entry,so its better he plans early before its late,”He said.
Wanyonyi is facing stiff competition from president of Chambers of commerce Richard Ngatia who enjoys good relationship with ODM boss Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta.
