Jubilee clears Ngatia for Nairobi governor’s race

Jubilee party has cleared Richard Ngatia for the Nairobi gubernatorial nominations that will be held next month

Ngatia presented his papers on Friday at the party headquarters in Nairobion where he was recieved by Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni.

Ngatia made a triumphant entry into the party headquarters with thousand of his supporters donning Jubilee colours.

He becomes the first aspirant to be cleared by the party as the count down to party primaries begins.

According to Kioni, Ngatia had met all the requirements stipulated by the party for nomination of it’s gubernatorial candidate.

The requirements include payment of nomination fee of Sh 500,000, degree certificate, certificate of good conduct,being a registered voter and a party member.

” We are proud as a party to have a candidate of Ngatia’s qualifications and he is the kind of candidate we will prefer Nairobi to have,” Kioni said.

In his address the media, Ngatia said that he is ready to clear the mess in the city,solve the unemployment problem as we as putting Nairobi to the global map.

” I am confident that we are going to transform this city because of the experience l have and the programs we have lined up,” Ngatia said.

Ngatia will battle for the party ticket with governor Ann Kananu and business magnet Agnes Kagure.

He is currently the President of the Kenya Chambers of Commerce and Industry a position he has held since 2019.

Observers opine that Ngatia could be the focal point for Jubilee in Nairobi even as the party works on various ways to regain political traction.
