The Mt. Elgon Sub County Games ended on Sunday in a dramatic twist, with Kapsokwony Boys High School leading the lot to represent the region in the County Games.

Speaking during the climax of the sports event at Kapsokwony Boys High School grounds, Secretary of the Mt. Elgon Sub County Secondary School Sports Association, David Sichei, hinted that the games were tough, to say the least.

“The students were well prepared, and our fingers are crossed, especially in ball games like volleyball and football, which have been very brutal, but we respect the referee’s decision and the coordinator’s guidance,” reiterated Sichei.

The Secretary also assured parents, teachers, and students that the games would be judged fairly and that deserving teams would frankly proceed to represent Mt. Elgon at the next level at County.

The games that started on Saturday and drew to a close on Sunday included football, netball, basketball, rugby, racketball, badminton, and table tennis.

St.Mary’s Kibuk Girls High School will be proceeding to football; Kimobo Friends and Kapsokwony Boys High School will proceed in Rugby; Kapsokwony Boys High School and Kaptama Boy’s High School will proceed in Basketball; and Kimobo Friends will also represent the mountain in netball.

The county games are slated for June 6–8 at Bungoma High School.
