Kiambu Woman Wants City Tycoon Arrested For Attempted Rape

A Kiambu woman wants a Nairobi based business tycoon arrested and charged for alleged assault and attempted rape.

The woman known as Rebecca Wairimu,23, is accusing the business man by the name Mr Chatur Madatali,for allegedly assaulting and attempting to rape her on September 18,2021 within Nairobi.

In a statement she wrote at Parklands police station under OB number 44 and seen by The Times,Rebecca claims that on the material day at around 10pm, she was out for a reggae concert in the company of three other women at a city club before things got dramatic and ultimately hectic for her.

She narrates that upon spoting them,Mr Chartur send his bodyguard who asked them to join him.They joined him before later on requesting to leave for another club.

Mr Chartur would later call the owner of the club they wanted to go to and even asked that they book a table for him and his new found friends.

Mr Chartur offered to drop them to the club but to their surprise,he drove them to a poshy hotel known as Concord Hotel as per the statement, When they questioned him,he called the hotel bouncers and police officers who came and arrested them.

” Mr Chatur claimed that we were causing disturbance at Concord Hotel which was not true and we were taken to Parklands police station,” the statement reads in part.

There were then escorted to Parklands police station and placed in custody till the following day with an offense of causing distabance at the hotel facility.

A letter written by FIDA Kenya to the OCS Parklands and seen by The Times, ,indicates that the woman reported assault and attempted rape.

The letter by lawyer reads: ” Our client alleges that on 18th September, 2021,together with their friends,there was an assault and an attempt to rape occasioned to her within Nairobi area,”

According to Gigiri DCIO boss investigating the matter, Mr Peter Kiboro who spoke to The Times, confirmed that,the matter is still under investigation promising to get to the bottom of the allegations.

“It’s true have received the OB number,and all recordings from the ladies ,for now I can’t preempt anything untill am done with the investigation,which have already kickstart,”Kiboro said.

Efforts to reach out to the accused were futile as his phone was off by the time of going to press.
