Man Charged with Threatening to Kill and Assault at Westgate Mall Appears in Milimani Court
A man was arraigned on Monday, charged with threatening to kill at the Milimani Law Court.
Nur Ahmed Mohamed appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Nanzushi, pleaded not guilty, and requested a pre-bail report before the court considers issuing bond.
According to the charge sheet, on November 4, 2023, at Westgate Mall in Westlands sub-county within Nairobi County, Nur, without lawful excuse, uttered words threatening to kill Abdi Hassan Mohamed.
In another count, Nur, alleged to be a fugitive, is also charged with assault under Section 251 of the Penal Code. It is stated that on November 4, 2023, at Westgate Shopping Mall within Nairobi County, he assaulted Abdi Hassan Mohammed, causing him bodily harm.
The lawyer holding brief for the complainant, Benson Nzakyo, urged the court to deny the accused person bond or bail, citing concerns that, being a foreigner, he might interfere with the witnesses.
The matter will be mentioned on Friday in anticipation of the bail or ruling.
