A lawyer is seeking to change the narrative of how politics in the office of the woman representative is done.

She is Maureen Moraa Obino. Sharp intelligent, personable and bursting with ambition.

“My political journey started in the University of Nairobi and I later joined national politics as a youth leader in jubilee party and also one of the pioneers of UDA party. However she is now an Independent candidate if elected, will work with whoever will be elected as President, Governor and Senator respectively to transform her Gusii community.

“As a woman representative in Kisii my vision is to eradicate poverty through initiation of sustainable projects for all the people: youths, women, men, jua Kali sector, bodaboda people and even special interest groups. I plan to create a platform for economic empowerment so that I can uplift and empower my people economically.”

On the key pillar of healthcare, the outspoken Honorable Maureen observed that 70 percent of Kisii residents don’t have access to the Nnhif. She plans to enroll all of them to the health insurance scheme.

She is also keen to ensure the office of the woman representative and it’s fund are enhanced.

“Finally I’m calling on the people of Kisii to elect me because I have their interest at heart and I will honour all my promises to them. I will also work to lobby for resources and bring them on the ground.”

From The Nation Media Group we wish Honorable Maureen all the best in her political endeavours.

Her manifesto spells the word WEALTH.

W – Women empowerment
