Office of the Ombudsman Rules Unlawful Termination of Employee Contract by Siaya County Government

The Office of the Ombudsman has responded to the County Government of Siaya over the termination of Countract of Mr Samon Apondi.

This follows after Mr. Apondi Succeffuly applied for a job and went through the required procedures of the County Public Service board.

We are pleased to inform you that you have been duly selected as Photo journalist job group H after successful interviews by the Public Service Board, Reads Part of the Contract letter that was given to Samson Wire Apondi in 2018.

However, Mr Apondi was not Hired after a long wait, this Prompted him to approach the Commission of Administrative of Justice which served several letters to the board without response. The commission through its Commission Vice Chairman Washington Osato

Upon investigation, the Office of the Ombudsman found that the termination of Mr. Apondi’s contract was unlawful and recommended that the County Government of Siaya reinstate him to his position and pay him any outstanding dues that he is entitled to. The Ombudsman also recommended that the County Government of Siaya takes appropriate disciplinary action against the officials responsible for the unlawful termination of Mr. Apondi’s contract.
