Police officers involved in the murder of two Embu brothers have been suspended, Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai has said.

IG Mutyambai said that their suspension from duty was to pave way for investigations and further prosecution if found guilty.

The Inspector General was speaking during his weekly #EngageTheIG on twitter where he addresses issues raised by Kenyans concerning security matters in the country.

“All the officers have been suspended with immediate effect to pave way for prosecution,” said IG Mutyambai.

“I assure you that justice for the Kianjokoma brothers will be served, but this can only be done if we allow the proper due process to take place with concrete evidence that can stand a trial in the court of justice,” he added.

While sending his condolences to the family of the two Kianjokoma brothers, he added that the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) had concluded investigations on the matter and forwarded the file to the Director of Public Prosecution for action.
