Raila maintains his Govt will give Kshs6k a month to poor households

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader and 2022 Presidential hopeful Raila Odinga has maintained that his government will give poor Kenyan households and youth Kshs 6 thousand each.

Speaking Wednesday while addressing a rally at the famous Nairobi’s Kamkunji grounds and later at a press briefing, Raila said his was not a pipe dream but what his government will deliver after cutting costs from different government ministry and government expenditure.

“Today, am going to announce my promise of 6000 shillings monthly stipend to poor households. To my critics, am going to show you how it is possible.” Raila said to a jubilant crowd.

Raila was unable to control the overwhelmed crowd as his attempts to continue with his speech hit a hard rock for some minutes, forcing him to listen to what the crowd was shouting.

Raila also mocked Deputy President William Ruto’s bottom up economic approach after the crowd started chanting that they will opt for the cash from Raila’s government than wheelbrarrows from Dp Ruto’s.

“Ni sawa, wamesema hawataki Wheelbarrows. Wangapi hawataki Wheelbarrows nione kwa mkono?(It’s ok, they have said they don’t need Wheelbarrows. How many people do not need Wheelbarrows?),” Raila asked as the celebrations continued.

Raila was in a tour of Nairobi to sensitize Nairobians to turn out in large numbers and register as voters in the ongoing voter registration exercise ahead of the 2022 general elections.

He was escorted by several Nairobi Mps including but not least to George Aladwa, Simba Arati, Babu Owino, T J Kajwang, Mombasa Abdullswamad Nassir politicians Maina Kamanda, Beatrice Elachi, Peter Kennet, CAS Rachel Shebesh amongst others.

The MPs and politicians also drummed up support for Raila to be the next president saying he has what it takes to lead the nation.
