Ruto asks IG not to allow the police be used politically

Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday asked the Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai not to allow the police to be used politically.

Addressing residents at Kipkelion in Kericho County, the second in command said the police have been politically being used by certain politicians to settle political score and says the trend needs to stop.

‘I want to tell the Inspector General of Police that when the day of reckoning comes, he will be personally answerable. The ones he is using will not be there,’ Ruto said.

Ruto was at Kunyak Secondary School to lay a foundation stone for the construction of the multi-purpose hall and presented buses to the institution, Murao Secondary School and Kokwet High School, Kipkelion West, Kericho County.

He said that all the political machinations formed against him will not prosper as he is still with God.

Earlier on, he had attended Arthur Kinyanjui Kimani the burial ceremony of Arthur Kinyanjui Kimani, son to Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, at Nakuru ASK Showground, Nakuru Town West, Nakuru County

Ruto described Arthur as a hardworking, brilliant and promising young man.

He further eulogized Arthur as a talented artist, a gifted entrepreneur and an accomplished farmer.

He said God will grant the family and the loved ones courage and strength to bear the huge loss.
