Sakaja Beats Igathe to Clinch Nairobi Governor Seat
Johnson Sakaja is the new Governor of Nairobi county defeating Polycarp Igathe.
Senator Sakaja was vying on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket while Igathe who is a corporate executive was running on a Jubilee ticket.
Sakaja who was not available to collect his certificate at the county tallying centre was vying on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket while his strong opponent Igathe was running on a Jubilee ticket.
Sakaja beat his close rival Polycarp Igathe with more than 100,000 votes and the declaration had to be made despite some polling stations having failed to submit their results.
Fondly refferd to as Super Senator Sakaja was confirmed as the Newly Governor Elect for Nairobi with 699, 392 Votes
