Samsung Galaxy Unpacked: The Biggest Tech Developments of 2021

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its 2021 range of foldable smartphones.

The range includes the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

The foldable smartphones were unveiled through a virtual event that was broadcasted worldwide from the tech giants Korea Head office. Locally the event was watched by the Samsung brand fans as well as tech enthusiasts.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G are the third generation of this category and they include improvements recommended by that previous foldable smartphone users.

Galaxy Z Flip3 empowers users to express themselves with bold colour options, a sleek design, and premium features. With the choice of four colours—Cream, Green, Lavender, and Phantom Black. The redesigned Cover Screen is now four times larger and makes it easier to view notifications and messages without having to open Galaxy Z Flip3.

Locally the Samsung Electronics East Africa announced that the brand will be working with musician Tanasha Donna as a Brand Ambassador to highlight the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. Tanasha is known locally for expressing herself through her music as well her style which fits well with the stylish & trendy Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 are equipped with IPX8 water resistance, so users no longer have to worry when caught in the rain. Both devices are also built with Armor Aluminium along with Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus™ to protect against scratches and accidental drops. In addition, both devices include a new protective film made of stretchable PET and optimized display panel layers resulting in a Main Screen that’s 80% more durable than previous devices.

The Hideaway Hinge, enables the devices to stay in place at any angle for innovative user experiences with Flex mode. Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 were also put through a strenuous folding test, verified by Bureau Veritas, to withstand constant folding.

With the new Eco² display technology applied to the screen, it’s 29% brighter while consuming less energy. Users will experience smoother scrolling and quick device interaction with the Super Smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate now on both the Main and Cover Screens.

For the first time ever Samsung is bringing its beloved Note series technology to Galaxy Z Fold3, the S Pen functionality. For the best productivity at work, Microsoft Outlook’s dual-pane mode for Samsung foldables enables users to read a full email while previewing others on the side, just like a desktop experience. To bring users even more choices, Samsung’s new Labs feature offers users the ability to optimise even more apps to the foldable screen when they need it.

Joining the Galaxy Z Series are Galaxy Buds2 – designed for a comfortable fit made to be worn all day, and provide premium sound quality .As a part of the Galaxy ecosystem, Galaxy Buds2 make the perfect companion to your Galaxy smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch. Galaxy Buds2 are Samsung’s smallest and lightest earbuds with the curved shape.  The Buds2 will be available in four contemporary colours[1], graphite, white, olive and lavender

The Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 will be available for pre-order from 6th September to 20th September 2021. The recommended retail price22 for Galaxy Z Fold3 will start from KShs. 220,999 for the 512GB & KShs. 209,999 for the 256 GB. The recommended retail price for Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is KShs. 122,999. The pre-order offer includes complementary gifts like a A flip cover with S Pen and a wireless charger duo and Samsung Care+ for the Z Fold3 and a leather cover, wireless charger duo and Samsung Care+ for the Z Flip3
