Search of the country’s next CJ on its last day as panel interviews Yano

The search for the Country’s Chief Justice entered its last day on Friday with Ms. Yano Alice Jepkoech appearing before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) panel.

Ms. Yano who was born in 1968 in Elgeyo Marakwet County with an aggregate of 25 years’ experience in the legal profession told the interviewing panel that despite her young age, she was ready to serve and equal to the task as the country’s next Chief Justice, if she got the job.

“When I was applying for this job I asked myself if I can be able to do the job and the answer is yes.”

Yano told the panel that she loves to serve the public and she is also a hardworker.

Yano who is the youngest candidate to apply for the Chief Justice position at 53, says it’s true she is young among her peers but not young in experience arguing that her leadership was manifested when she was waiting to join university at age 21 in 1989 when she became a principal of a school that she started.

She state that if appointed CJ she will enhance ICT in the Judiciary to be able to accommodate everyone.
