South African Referees to handle Harambee Stars Egypt clash at Kasarani

Victor Miguel de Freitas Gomes from South Africa will be the center referee for the eagerly awaited  final round of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers  against  Egypt slated for  Thursday.

 He will be assisted by countrymates Zakhele Thusi Granville Siwela who will be the First Assistant Referee, Athenkosi Ndongeni, Abongile Tom.(fourth Official) and  match commissioner Awuye Yusuf Suleiman from  Uganda .

 Dixon Adol Okello from Uganda will be the Security Officer assisted by Kelly Athanasie Mukandanga from Rwanda as General Coordinator.Kenya’s Wycliffe Makanga has been assigned as the Covid-19 Officer.

The match officials are expected in the country on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. The Harambee Stars clash against Egypt will be staged on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the 60,000 seater Moi International Sports centre Kasarani from 7pm.

Harambee Stars will hold their final training session ahead of the match on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 3 pm, at the Match venue.

The Egypt National team is expected to jet into the country on Tuesday March 23rd, at 9 pm followed by the feel of the field of play on Wednesday, at 7 pm.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has issued a stern warning to accredited fans and media personnel to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 protocols set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).The match will strictly be played behind closed doors. Only 20 accredited journalists shall be allowed to cover the match and will be required to sit at the designated media tribune. Only 5 photographers will be allowed in Zone 2 (pitch perimeter zone), and will be required to produce a valid Covid-19 compliance certificate. The test should have been done at most 48 hours before kickoff.
