In line with keeping their promise to farmers, the Kenya Tea Development Authority KTDA has rolled up diversification projects to empower the tea farmer.

This move earned an accolade in the recently concluded Nairobi international trade fair.

And yesterday, KTDA under the wise leadership of chairman David Muni Ichoho equipped Kirinyaga farmers with skills to rear dairy goats.

“Today, in continuing with the theme of diversification, KTDA Foundation and Kangaita Tea Factory distributed 250 dairy goats to farmer groups in the area to boost their incomes.

The project also involves training farmers in dairy goat farming, disease management, fodder production and animal insurance.  It was done with support from Zensho , a key buyer of KTDA teas.

KTDA Holdings Chairman David Muni Ichoho  graced the occasion.
