Bishop Margaret Wanjiru who had vied for Nairobi Senatorial seat has conceded defeat and wished the Senator Elect Edwin Sifuna well.

Mr. Sifuna won on an ODM ticket in the neck to neck race that saw Wanjiru strongly emerging the second.

In her message of gratitude the Hon. Bishop said: “I would like to thank God, our team and all Nairobians who came out to exercise their democratic right to vote. We put up a vibrant campaign in Nairobi, but our challenger Edwin W. Sifuna carried the day.

We congratulate him and urge him to serve all our residents equally. I would also like to congratulate all the other candidates who were successful at the ballot from MCAs, MPs, Women rep Esther M Passaris ,OGW and Governor Sakaja Johnson. The honours are now bestowed upon you all to serve the residents of the great city of Nairobi with utmost vigour and service delivery.

To all of the aspirants across the board from all political parties and independents who did not make it, by similar accounts congratulations for the effort. Kindly remember leadership is a calling and you still carry that responsibility to do everything within your ability to make our community better.

Let us be calm and maintain peace as we accord IEBC the patience it deserves as they tally the presidential results. Let us remember that we are all Kenyans and there is life after elections.

That said and done, May God bless you, God bless Nairobi and God bless Kenya.”
We take this opportunity to wish the Honorable Bishop all the best.
